hangar door

🔹Basic Introduction

Basic Introduction
This is a multi-panel horizontal sliding hangar door, a special large industrial door designed for aircraft hangars, large shipyards and super-large-span workshops. The door panels slide horizontally along ground tracks, different from ordinary factory overhead doors.

1. Structure: Assembled from multiple independent door panels with daylight vision windows. It usually adopts bottom load-bearing and top guiding: the ground track at the bottom bears the huge weight of the door body, while the top track limits the position.

2. Opening Mode: Electrically driven. Panels can stack to one side or open in pairs to the left and right. Only several panels can be opened instead of fully opening, to adapt to aircraft of different sizes.

3. Features

◦ Extra-large span, capable of forming openings dozens of meters wide for large aircraft access;

◦ Strong wind resistance to withstand heavy wind loads outside hangars;

◦ Door panels can use insulated sandwich panels for heat insulation, with vision windows to improve natural lighting inside the hangar;

◦ Can be equipped with safety protection, emergency stop and manual emergency opening functions.

4. Application Scenarios: Civil aviation maintenance hangars, general aviation hangars, helicopter hangars, shipbuilding workshops and heavy industrial workshops.

📌Common Classifications of Hangar Doors

Common Types of Hangar Doors

• ✅ Sliding hangar door (the type in the picture): Most widely used for large openings with simple maintenance

• Stacking hangar door: Panels stack upward, suitable for hangars with space above the doorway

• Folding hangar door: Multiple panels fold to save side storage space

• Side-rotating hangar door: Door panels rotate to open
